CFA® – CHARTERED FINANCIAL ANALYST®

The CFA® Program is a globally respected pathway to earning the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation—the gold standard in investment management education.

The CFA Qualification Process

The CFA Program consists of three sequential exams—Levels I, II, and III. Candidates must successfully complete all three levels, along with practical skills modules, to demonstrate mastery of investment analysis and portfolio management.

Candidates must accumulate 4,000 hours of relevant professional experience. This experience must involve investment decision-making or contribute directly to the investment process. Work experience may be completed before, during, or after participation in the CFA Program.

To earn the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, candidates must become regular members of CFA Institute. The application requires:

  • Submission of 2–3 professional references
  • Documentation of qualifying investment-related work experience
  • Agreement to adhere to CFA Institute’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct

CFA Exam Dates

CFA Program exams are offered four times per year at more than 400 testing locations worldwide, providing candidates with flexibility in scheduling.

Candidates may sit for the CFA exam a maximum of two times per calendar year, subject to program rules. Exams cannot be taken in consecutive testing windows or within six months of a previous attempt, ensuring adequate preparation time between sittings.
